Visit Arrowhead Provincial Park
A little over three hours north of Toronto and open all year long, Arrowhead Provincial Park is a great place to head if you’re partial to snowshoeing or ice skating. They also have over 30 km of ski trails winding through their forests, rated for difficulty so you’ll know what you’re getting into before you set out. Knowing you’ll need to keep warm, they’ve got two warming shelters and even a fire pit!
This is a great spot to bond and have fun during school field trips, corporate retreats, girl guide or scouts weekend trips, family reunions, or even church group outings.
Toronto (always) has a lot to offer
Anyone living outside Toronto should make the trip to see it during winter at least once. Nathan Phillips Square is a gorgeous sight when it’s all lit up in the evening. And if you’ll be there between the middle of November and the middle of March you can go ice skating beneath its twinkling lights. If you don’t have skates, there’s nothing to worry about since they have a skate rental shop.
The great thing about making a winter trip to Toronto is that there’s an abundance of hotels, pubs and great dining available, which is perfect for weekend trips with a big group of friends. If you time it right, you can also participate in some of its festivals, including Winterlicious early in the new year.

Collingwood is located about two and a half hours northwest of Toronto, and many adventures await you there.
